March 11 – My Top 5 Favorite Sweet Adventures (and where to find them!)
Okay, I’m really sorry for going MIA for a long time. Stuff is getting crazy at work that my daily grind on this page had to pause for a while. I promise I have good stuff prepared here on my comeback. Ready?
Well, it’s summer time. And I’m admittedly a sweet tooth, which would probably explain all my extra weight but… baaaah. It’s nice to explore and discover new sweets after another and satisfy cravings.
Speaking of cravings, this summer is definitely the time for you to take a breather and splurge into a journey that would refresh you. For my post today, I’d like to share some of my favorite sweet adventure… literally sweet, actually.
These brightly colored almond-made babies are not as easy to find as our normal dessert quest. I remember having craved for them during the Holidays and could not find any on the places I usually go to. When we had our Tinta Awards event, it was the moment I’ve been waiting for. Buddha-bar’s macarons are the best I’ve tasted yet! They’re a bit pricey, though, so make sure to try their other goodies in the menu. They serve various authentic delish meals!Buddha-bar Manila Picar Place, Kalayaan Avenue, Makati City, Philippines 8566859/8566719 firstname.lastname@example.org
I’m not really into milkshakes before but ever since my friends introduced Sweet Ecstasy’s Oreo, Vanilla, Choco and Cerveza milkshakes, I totally got hooked! These yum drinks are so suave, we’ve had a lot of heart-to-heart conversations with them!
Sweet Ecstasy also serves great cookies that are the great example of that “crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside” concept. Whew! Mouth-watering, ain’t it?Sweet Ecstasy Cubao Expo Gen. Romulo St., Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon City, Philippines They’re stores are closed on Mondays and opens at around 4PM the rest of the week.
Halo-halo’s are the best of Pinoy prides when it comes to summer treats – a mixture of different sweet beans and jellies, fruit and other goodies, with crushed ice and milk, all in a cup to quench your summer thirst and hunger.
I specifically love Razon’s halo-halo, but not those on malls and stalls everywhere. One of my best friends, Amor, had brought me to its mother store (the original and first Razon to be birthed in the Philippines according to her) in Guagua. I love it even more ‘cause my leche flans and sweet bananas seem unlimited when my friends give me all of theirs when they’re full. Hahaha!
Razon’s also served scrumptious Pancit Luglog and other goodies.Razon’s can be found at selected SM Malls in the Philippines and several other places. You may visit their website (razonsofguagua.com) to locate a store near you or shoot them a call at (+632).671.5580 or (+632).671.6223 or e-mail email@example.com.
No, not those ordinary cookies, but the ones made by this wonderful girl, Ivorie, at Cookie Bar Manila. While she makes traditional cookies, still, she has invented a new way to interest us with her beyond-words-goodness cookie cups and cookie cakes. Ivorie keeps an online store for Cookie Bar and joins events every now and then. Her products are definitely worth every buck! Gosh, now I’m psychologically drooling for cookies! 🙂http://www.ilovecookies.net or order straight at www.SpeedRegalo.com.ph/CookieBarManila
Ice Cream (of course!)
Well, this cold cutie can’t be secluded on my list, of course! I grew up having this as one of my favorite foods (but for now, you should know I actually like almost everything, Hahaha). But the quest now isn’t just to taste a mainstream-ish, ice-cream-on-cup or those gallon-packed ones. Thankfully, I have found Big Scoop’s ice cream! Their flavors range from traditional, chocolate, vanilla, cookies and cream to unique mint chocolate chip, strawberry with real bits and sherbets that taste so wonderful, it feels like winter on a summer day!
My personal favorite is the “Mt. Everest” with 11 scoops on a plate creating a huge mountain of ice cream! 😀
